Rebates & Claiming
Private Health
If you have a private health fund we are able to claim rebates in person at both the Sinnamon Park and Paddington clinics after your appointment. For telehealth appointments, we will provide you with a paid invoice so you can claim your rebate direct with your health fund. The rebate amount will depend on your health fund and level of cover. You will need to check this with your health fund independently.

Medicare

We accept Medicare referrals including GP Chronic Condition Management Plans and Eating Disorder Management Plans. There is an out-of-pocket fee being the difference between the consultation fee and Medicare rebate. For example: $204 Initial consultation fee minus $61.60 Medicare rebate = $142.40 out of pocket fee. After your appointment we first take the full consultation fee then process the Medicare rebate. The rebate usually appears in your account 1-3 business days after the appointment.

DVA
DVA Gold Card holders or DVA white card holders with a listed mental health condition are bulk billed if you have a dietitian referral. Please visit your GP prior to your appointment and either email the referral to us prior or bring to your appointment.

NDIS
We are not an NDIS Registered Provider but do accept both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS referrals.
Plan managed participants: charged the set NDIS rate of $178.99 per 60min appointment. An invoice will be sent to your plan manager after the appointment. Payment is required within 7 days.
For self-managed participants: charged the usual dietitian consultation fee (see fees above). Payment is required after the appointment and participants can claim the cost independently.
Cancellation Policy
We appreciate that life happens and you may need to cancel your appointment. If this is the case, we appreciate as much notice as possible so we can pass on your appointment time to another person. Please note however that no shows and bookings cancelled within 24hrs of the appointment incur a 100% cancellation fee. Bookings cancelled more than 24hrs in advance incur no fees.

How the process works
Here's what to expect when booking a Dietitian with Apricity.
1.
Book your Dietitian appointment
If you’re ready to jump right in, book an initial appointment (1hr), either in-person or online, or if you’re not quite sure and have some questions we recommend booking a
10-minute discovery call. Book online or call us at one of our Brisbane locations.
Paddington
Sinnamon Park
Alternatively, feel free to email us at hello@apricitynutrition.com.au
2.
Meet with your dietitian
This is our opportunity to get to know each other, discuss your goals and the type of support you’re hoping for.
If you’ve booked an initial appointment, we’ll have an in-depth discussion and go through any relevant background and/or clinical information. This session can be a bit question-heavy but is important help us develop an appropriate treatment plan that suits your goals, individual circumstances, and pace of change.
If you’ve booked a 10-minute discovery call, this will be much more relaxed and your opportunity to ask questions to see if you’d like to proceed with an initial booking. These sessions are either by phone or video call and absolutely FREE with no obligation to book afterwards.
3.
Get a referral
(or not)
You don’t need a referral to see a dietitian but it can be handy to have one to reduce the out-of-pocket fee. Referral examples include Eating Disorder Management Plans (EDMP) or GP Chronic Condition Management Plans (GPCCMP) and are available for eligible patients. You’ll need to see your GP for this and we can help navigate the process if needed.

What to expect.
Initial appointments (50 minutes consult time + 10 minutes admin)
Your initial appointment is an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of you, your goals, and the support you’re looking for.
We’ll explore your health history, eating patterns, lifestyle, and any relevant medical information to help build a clear picture of your needs. This comprehensive assessment allows us to determine the most appropriate, individualised approach to your nutrition care.
In some cases, we may begin discussing strategies during this session. However, recommendations and your personalised nutrition plan are typically explored in more detail during your follow-up appointments. This is because further analysis &/or information gathering is often required by your dietitian after the initial session to help formulate the plan.
At the end of your initial session however, we’ll recommend suggested number of appointments and frequency for ongoing support, with the option to book future appointments in advance to secure your preferred timeslot.
Please note : depending on the complexity of your situation, the assessment process may take place over two initial sessions.
Initial appointments are made up of 50 minutes face-to-face/telehealth time and 10 minutes administration time for scheduling appointments, mandatory clinical notes and communications.
Follow-up appointments
(40 minutes consult time + 5 minutes admin)
Follow-up appointments provide ongoing and individualised support, guidance and structure as you work towards your goals.
During these sessions, we will:
-
Review your initial assessment findings
-
Develop and refine your personalised nutrition plan
-
Provide education and evidence-based practical strategies
-
Support behaviour change at a pace that suits you
Your care is always collaborative, respectful and tailored to your needs. This may include goal setting, symptom management, referrals to other health professionals, or recommendations for further investigations where appropriate.
The number of sessions varies for each person — whether you need short or long-term support, we’ll work together in a way that feels supportive and sustainable.
Frequency of appointments

Appointment frequency is flexible and based on your individual circumstances. Some clients benefit from weekly support, while others attend fortnightly or monthly sessions. Together, we’ll find a rhythm that works best for you.
